John Slattery

John Slattery is Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Education and Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington. He served as Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the Graduate School of the University for 5 years and has been on the University faculty for approximately 30 years. His research addressed the formation and disposition of toxic reactive metabolites from drugs, including popular analgesics and alkylators used in chemotherapy. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and has served as an officer in each organization. He has served on the editorial boards of several journals, as a reviewer of grant proposals for the National Institutes of Health, the Veterans Administration, and the Canadian Institute of Health Research.

Dr. Slattery received his B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
