2013 EE CarEEr Fair & HKN Poker Night
Wednesday, 1/23/13, 3-5PM
The HUB 145
Our first annual Electrical Engineering Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, January 23rd 2013, from 3-5PM and will be open to a select group of companies. Due to the intentionally small size of our event, companies will have an opportunity to network with both undergraduate and graduate students on a much more personal level than traditional career fairs. Our HKN sponsored Poker Night will take place directly after the Career Fair and is an opportunity to network with our top-EE students as well as faculty in a lively, non-traditional atmosphere. Participating companies at both our Career Fair and Poker Night will gain access to our valuable student resume books and will also have the opportunity to post jobs and set-up on-campus interviews.
HKN Poker Night
Wednesday, 1/23/13, 6-11PM
UW Club Main Dining Room
Following the EE Career Fair, HKN will host their 5th annual Poker Night, which has attracted over 100 students in recent years, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. This is a fun, interactive event which provides industry representatives a chance to chat with students about their goals and interests in a lively, social atmosphere. Prior to the beginning of the event, food and beverages are provided, giving company representatives a chance to interact with both students and EE faculty, who serve as our Poker “dealers.” Once the event starts, each person will receive the same amount of chips, and is seated at a table with a mix of students and employers. Every 15-30 minutes, we will ask the student players to rotate to another table, allowing everyone a chance to speak with a variety of companies from different specialties.
