Transfer and Concurrent Degree Instructions
Graduate students who are pursuing a degree in another University of Washington department and wish to either a) obtain a concurrent Electrical Engineering degree or b) transfer into the Electrical Engineering Department should follow the instructions listed below.NOTE: For either option, it is required that the applicant submit a letter from an EE faculty member who is willing to serve as an advisor.
Application materials should be submitted 4-6 weeks before the quarter for which the student is applying.

Concurrent Degree in Electrical Engineering
Submit the following:
ELECTRONIC APPLICATION to the EE Department (link below) which should include:
a) University of Washington transcript (unofficial)
b) Letter from an advisor in Electrical Engineering who is willing to serve as your advisor in electrical engineering (you will be asked to enter the email address of the professor, and the professor will automatically receive an invitation to submit a letter of recommendation)
c) Statement of purpose - a one-page summary of your background and the reason for requesting a concurrent degree in Electrical Engineering. Include a list of EE courses intended to be applied only toward an MSEE.
Transfer to Electrical Engineering
Submit the following:
ELECTRONIC APPLICATION to the EE Department (link below) which should include:

b) Letter from an advisor in Electrical Engineering who is willing to serve as your advisor in electrical engineering (you will be asked to enter the email address of the professor, and the professor will automatically receive an invitation to submit a letter of recommendation)
c) Statement of purpose - a one-page summary of your background and the reason for requesting a transfer to Electrical Engineering.
