PMP Graduation Information

Step 1

Submit your master's degree request online with the Graduate School. The request period commences on the first day of the quarter you intend to graduate and continues until the Sunday of the ninth week (seventh week in Summer) of the quarter you intend to graduate.

Last day to submit the master's degree request online for Autumn 2009: December 6th

If you do not file a master's degree request by the published deadlines for the quarter you complete your degree requirements, you may be eligible to pay a Graduate Registration Waiver Fee in lieu of registration the subsequent quarter. For more detailed information on associated fees and deadlines refer to the Graduate Registration Waiver Fee webpage .

Step 2

Submit a Program of Study form to the PMP Advisor after you submit your online master's degree request.  It must be received no later than the same deadline for submitting the online master's degree request.

PMP Program of Study Form (available as a Word fill-in form)

The Program of Study form must be filled out with a quarter-by-quarter list of all the courses you intend to use toward your PMP degree requirements .  You may use your transcript (on MyUW) as a guide to fill this out.  If you have coursework in progress for the current quarter being used toward degree requirements, leave the "grade" section blank on the form for these courses.

The PMP Advisor will audit your Program of Study form to verify you have completed all of the minimum requirements in order to graduate and earn the MSEE. After the audit is approved the PMP Advisor will make an official recommendation to the Graduate School to approve your master’s degree request.

Step 3

Fill out the EE Alumni Information Form.  This will ensure that we have your most current contact information so we can keep you informed of events, departmental news, etc.

Electrical Engineering Graduation Celebration

The EE Department holds our own Graduation Celebration (usually the Friday before UW Commencement). Information regarding the EE ceremony will be communicated directly to our students prior to the event.  We look forward to celebrating our first cohort of PMP graduates in 2010!

University of Washington Commencement Ceremony

Information on the University's ceremony can be referenced at the UW Commencement Homepage.

University of Washington Diploma

You may expect to receive your official UW diploma within three to four months after you complete the PMP and your MSEE degree has been granted. Should you need to provide validation of your MSEE degree before that time, your transcript should reflect your degree. Check with the UW Transcripts Office to verify that your degree has been posted and to order a copy.
