Satisfactory Progress
Satisfactory progress toward the completion of the Ph.D. degree is assessed in Autumn Quarter of each year. A student is considered to not be making satisfactory progress toward the Ph.D. degree if any of the following circumstances are found:
- chronic low grades
- inability to have found a permanent research advisor
- overdue for passing the Qualifying Exam or the General Exam
Satisfactory progress toward the completion of the M.S. degree is assessed in Spring Quarter of each year. A student is considered to not be making satisfactory progress toward the M.S. degree if any of the following circumstances are found:
- chronic low grades
- more than two years in the program under full-time status
