Rishabh Iyer Wins Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship
Graduate student Rishabh Iyer has been awarded this year's Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship. Out of the 181 applicants, Rishabh is one of only twelve winners. Rishabh works with Professor Jeff Bilmes, and his main research interests are at the intersection of discrete optimization, specifically submodularity and machine learning. Over the last year, Bilmes and Iyer have received two best paper awards for their work, one at ICML 2013 Conference, and another at NIPS 2013 Conference. Congratulations Rishabh!
