B.A., The Evergreen State College

I have been in the Electrical Engineering department since March 2008. My previous UW experience includes the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, Department of Chemistry and the Center for Instructional Development and Research.

Currently, I provide departmental HR support to the faculty, and administrative and operational support to the Chair. I primarily organize and process academic human resource issues and appointments (hiring) for UW Electrical Engineering and maintain faculty personnel records. This includes hiring for post-doctoral Research Associates, all foreign and domestic visiting scholar titles, affiliate and adjunct professor titles, temporary teaching assignments, part- and full-time lecturers, temporary and permanent tenure track and research faculty positions as well as processing any visas necessary for employment. I am the point-of-contact for UW EE faculty searches. I manage and organize EE faculty promotion and tenure cases, annual reviews, leaves of absence, and faculty meetings. I serve on the Operating Committee as well as the department Awards and Nominations Committees. Additionally, I supervise the front desk staff, reception area, student assistants and the Administrative Coordinator (currently vacant).

Personal

I studied communications and print journalism with a literature minor at Pacific Lutheran University and received a BA degree from The Evergreen State College in interdisciplinary studies (social justice, civil and human rights and contemplative psychology).

Outside of work, I study yoga and am a certified yoga instructor focusing on restorative, Hatha and vinyasa practices. I also take courses in law. I am a voracious reader, practice and find great joy in AcroYoga, writing, novice boulder climbing, and spending time with friends and family. I recently completed a term on the Board of Directors for Transitional Resources. I live in Fremont.
