Advanced Imaging of Obscured Objects Home
Introduction
Imaging and detection of object in realistic environment including rough terrain, obscuring objects, and clutter is a challenging problem. This research intends to develop new imaging and detection methods using electromagnetic wave. We exploit the correlation of scattered EM waves for detection and imaging of target of interest in the presence of clutters and/or obscuring objects.
Challenges
In the presence of random, complex, and obscuring surroundings, the imaging and detection of a target-of-interest is difficult. New model and processing methods are crucial for improving the imaging and detection of the target-of-intererst.
Current Research
-
Correlation function for object detection on a rough surface
We study of angular correlation function using received signal from two or more sensors to improve detection of an object on a random rough surface.
-
Improved passive coherent imaging of object in cluttered environment
We investigate a passive coherent correlation and imaging in cluttered environment. We intend to improve resolution and reliability of imaging and detection of a target of interest in the presence of cluttered environment using only passive listening modality
