Abstract:
IEEE 802.15 has had a project to develop a standard for Ultra Wideband: very high data rates with low radio power and short range. The IEEE project has stalled, but the work has resulted in an ECMA standard, and many
applications: multimedia connectivity, IP connectivity and wireless peripheral connectivity. Technologies have been demonstrated, and a wave of products is in development. The presentation will cover the modulation technology, the applications and the industry politics.Speaker Biography:
Joe Decuir is a senior engineer at MCCI, a leading company in device connectivity software. He is active in IEEE 802.15, Bluetooth, WiMedia Alliance and USB-IF standards activities. He also serves as Secretary of the Seattle Section.
