Somsak Sukittanon graduated Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington in 2004. His research interests are in multimedia signal processing and embedded control. His past experience includes automated digital communication signal recognition, machine tool monitoring, content based audio classification and identification, and speech enhancement.
He loves to play with his golden retriever, Junior. They spend time chasing a ball (sometimes a cat or squirrel), taking a car ride, and swimming in lake. Check out recent Junior’s iMovie.
In the past years, he involved in teaching 9 courses at the University of Washington. He received the 2005 outstanding teaching award honor from Electrical Engineering department. Check out his teaching page.
During the last 16 months while he worked for Virtual DSP, WA, he published over 10 papers, including IEEE journal and conference, and finished 3 products. In 2006, he joined an engineering team of ShotSpotter, CA. Check out his research page for papers and useful code.
