The line-drawing images and ground truth are part of the UW-III Document Image Database. It contains three sub-directories: /REAL, /SYNTHET and /UTILITY.
The /DRAWING/REAL/ sub-directory contains 40 document pages which were selected from UW-I and UW-II that contain line drawings. The selected files were given new IDs: DR00, ..., DR39. The second letter, R, of the new IDs stands for ``real'' document pages. We zoned only those line-drawing regions (zones) on these pages. Text and other non-text zones have been excluded. The groundtruths for these pages have been done in AutoCAD and IGES formats. In addition to the groundtruth files, there are five files (TIFF images, page attributes, page condition, page boxes, zone boxes) associated with each of the real pages. The description of these files is given in the following sub-sections.
The /DRAWING/SYNTHET sub-directory contains 44 synthetically generated TIFF images of engineering-drawings and their groundtruths. The page IDs for these synthetic images are: DS00, ..., DS43. The groundtruth for these pages is also in AutoCAD and IGES formats.
The /DRAWING/UTILITY sub-directory contains the needed software for converting binary TIFF images to octal images. The octal format is needed for AutoCAD software.
