Inspection Tasks
The goal of this project is to develop an automated vision system for
inspection and robot guidance that bridges the gap from CAD models to machine
vision algorithms. The completed system will be able to 1)~convert a CAD model
to a model that is appropriate for machine vision, 2)~use the vision model to predict
features that will appear in images under various lighting and other environmental
conditions, 3)~ suggest appropriate lighting
configurations for specified tasks, and 4)~ automatically produce vision
procedures from a sufficiently detailed description of the vision task.
