Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the SSH file server is up and running for the MEMS lab. You will now be able to exchange files with Karl this way. Here is how you connect to the MEMS Server via SSH. 1. Launch the SSH Secure File Transfer Client icon 2. Click on the button that says Quick Connect 3. Host Name - memsserver.ee.washington.edu (128.95.31.30) 4. Username - (your EE username) 5. Click on the Connect button 6. Click through the next box or two until you are prompted for your password 7. Enter your EE account password in the text box and click OK 8. If you are running the most recent version of SSH you will have different displays in your SSH File Transfer Window. The display on the left will be your computer and the display on your right will be the remote computer - Memsserver. Each user has a folder in the directory called homes. I have set up permissions that each user along with Karl and I will have Full Control over their own folder. I have also set up 2 other folders. 1 folder is called Public and all users have Full Control of this folder. The second folder is called Karl. This folder gives Karl and I full control and all members of the Memslab have write access only. This way users can drop things in this folder for Karl, but cannot access them after they have been dropped. Please let me know if you are having problems or if you feel permissions should be configured differently. Thanks!
