The applied microtechnology program is one of the fastest growing research centers at the at the University of Washington, with active faculty and student participartion from a number of departments in engineering and science. Research and teaching in the program focuses on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), microelectronics, and photonics. Our mission is to perform cutting-edge research in these and related areas, and to provide students with thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in the various aspects of microtechnology.
