ALUMNI

Dr. Allen Waters

Allen received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Oregon State University in 2010 and 2015, respectively. While at OSU, he received the ARCS Fellowship and the Analog Devices Outstanding Student Designer Award. In March 2015 he joined the Silicon Systems Research Laboratory as a Visiting Researcher. His research interests include minimalist and synthesizable data converters.

John J. Sealy

John received his BA in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009, and his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2013. In 2014, he began pursuing is MS degree at the University of Washington, and joined the Silicon Systems Research laboratory in Winter 2014. His research interests are in power electronics and renewable energy.

Jeremy Popp

Jeremy's research interest includes high performance mixed-signal circuits in SiGe BiCMOS and nanoscale FinFET CMOS. His current research is focused on demonstrating Terabit wireline SerDes interfaces using novel coding schemes, digital transmitter techniques, and power efficient receiver equalization in 14nm SOI FinFET CMOS. Jeremy is a recipient of the Clean Energy Institute Fellowship. Prior to joining UW, Jeremy was an Associate Technical Fellow leading advanced mixed signal ASIC developments at Boeing, and received his master's degree in electrical engineering from University of California San Diego, and a bachelor's degree from Portland State University.

Dr. Jerry Lopez

Yu Wang

Yu's research interests lie in the area of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits design. His current research focus is on high efficiency power management system design for energy harvesting applications. Wang is a visiting student from Fudan University awarded by China Scholarship Council. Wang received his bachelor's degree in microelectronics from Fudan University in 2010.

Anna Horstmann

Anna is a Senior pursuing her B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Embedded Computing Systems. She is currently working alongside other undergraduates to design a digital delay locked loop in 14nm FinFET CMOS. The implications of such small-scale semiconductors make this research particularly exciting to be involved in.

Zach Chen

Zach is currently in the Silicon Systems Research Laboratory working on an all digital delay locked loop using IBM's 14nm process. He is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Washington and will finish his B.S. in Electrical Engineering June 2014, with a focus on Digital VLSI.

Quoc-Anh Vu

Bohan Wang

Bohan is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. He is currently working on the design and testing of FinFET-based 14nm delay-locked loop. Before joining silicon system lab, Wang spent a quarter on SEAL lab working on the Diet data record systems prototype. Wang has interests in both analog and digital VLSI design. He is planning to go to graduate school after graduation. When not dealing with circuits or writing codes, he enjoys running, reading and traveling.

Conner Ballew

Ky To

Ky joined UWEE's Silicon System Lab in Winter 2014. She is currently working with a group of undergraduate students researching topics related to nano-scale VLSI design and modeling for DLL. Ky will complete her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with Embedded System concentration in Winter 2015.

Tianen Jiang

Tianen Jiang is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington. His major interests are Synthesis, Auto Place and Route, and Spice Simulation.

Yixin Huang

Yixin Huang is a senior student in Electrical Engineering at UW. She focus on Analog/Digital VLSI Design. She joined the Silicon System Lab in Spring 2014.

Bin Yu

| Personal Website |

Bin is a Junior of Electrical Engineering Department in University of Washington, who concentrated on Digital VLSI Design, Biomedical Instrumentation and Embedded Computer System. Bin joined the Silicon System lab since the spring quarter of 2014, and worked on the Delta-Sigma Frequency Synthesizer in 14nm project. His research interests include medical device development, IC design and neural engineering.
