ONR YIP: Joint Signal Deconvolution and Classification

Abstract
Methods will be investigated for classifying signals corrupted by unknown linear, time-invariant filtering and additive noise by considering the deconvolution in the classification algorithm. By jointly deconvolving and classifying, it is possible to avoid blind deconvolution or ill-posed estimations. In particular, multipath corruption of passive sonar signals in shallow water channels will be used for experiments.
