Outreach

Technical Committee Activities

We participate in technical committees of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE). At this place we intend to establish a web site for the CIGRE Task Force C6.04.02 for which Professor Strunz currently serves as convener. A description of the scope of Task Force C6.04.02 can be downloaded here.

Professional Association Activities

We participate in the Seattle Chapter of the Power Engineering Society (PES) of the IEEE. More information is found here: http://www.ewh.ieee.org/r6/seattle/pes/

Bridging Curricula and Communities Initiative

The objective of the Bridging Curricula and Communities Initiative (BCCI) is to make the energy systems program at the University of Washington more visible. In a first step, BCCI is aimed at developing synergies of the energy systems program with other programs. The core of BCCI will be a website which will be accessible to all students and faculty at UW. The web site will appear at this place. It will provide detailed and up-to-date information on the teaching and research activities in energy systems. The offered information comprises the contents of all energy systems courses, the time when the individual topics covered by these courses are taught as well as announcements on seminars and thesis defenses. In a second step, BCCI will be extended beyond UW to build bridges to other institutions of research and education at various levels.
