Assistant Professor Maryam Fazel has received a 2009 CAREER award from the National Science Foundation for her proposal titled “Parsimonious Modeling via Matrix Rank Minimization.”

This project focuses on developing mathematical tools and algorithms for finding low-complexity or parsimonious models that explain observed data in a variety of engineering applications, using convex optimization methods.

Congratulations to Maryam!
