NIAC Center

The Northwest Institute for Advanced Computing, or NIAC, is the new collaborative center designed to maximize the impact of computing on transformative discoveries that fuel scientific and societal progress. As the Aministrator for NIAC my responsibilities include operations management, research administration, fiscal administration, human resources, events planning, and Web development.

University of Washington

The University of Washington is the number one nationally ranked public research university -- for more than twenty five years the UW has led the nation's public universities in competing for federal research and training grants. The University of Washington received more than $1 billion in research funding for fiscal year 2007, marking the first time it has reached this level. The University of Washington is a world leader and a premier research university with considerable economic impact; additional information is available at the Office of Research's fact sheet.

Department of Electrical Engineering

In addition to my role with the NIAC Center, I am also the Program Manager for the research groups led by Co-Director of NIAC and Chair of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Vikram Jandhyala, Prof. M.P. Anantram, Prof. Eric Klavins, Prof. Yasuo Kuga, Prof. Visvesh Sathe, and Prof. Georg Seelig.

Brief Bio

I received my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy and Assessment (1992) from Western Washington University. I have over 15 years experience managing multi-million dollar research projects at the University of Washington.

Research Administration

My primary responsibility is the cradle to grave management of research projects from government, industry, and foundations. I handle all aspects of grant, contract, and gift management from pre-award administration to post-award operations to final closeout and reporting. I serve as an interface between faculty investigators, research sponsors, and the University for award negotiations, policies and procedures, compliance, and intellectual property issues.
