Aimi is working on a droplet-based mirofludics system on textured surfaces. The goal of her project is to create surfaces on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for selective and controllable transport of micro-scale water droplets with vertical vibration. The fundamental understanding of pinning, contact line hysteresis and the coupling between mode shapes of the droplets and surface patterns will lead to the optimization of the surface design for frequency and acceleration of operation of the system.
