The theme of the Mobile Robotics Laboratory is to provide an educational and research program dedicated to the engineering of complex systems. The work of the laboratory is organized into a modular format. Autonomous agents with specific deliverable data structures are defined to guide mobile robot development. The personnel working in the lab are primarily students of Prof. Robert W. Albrecht in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington. Colleagues who work closely with the Mobile Robotics Laboratory are Prof. Blake Hannaford of the Biorobotics Laboratory , and Prof. Deirdre Meldrum of the Genomation Laboratory .
