EEK wins another CASE Award

eek2008The Department of Electrical Engineering’s EEK 2008 Magazine has received a CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) District VIII Communications Awards competition “Silver Award” in the Student & Alumni Publications Category. EEK2008, last year’s edition of the department’s annual showcase of graduate student research, was edited by Professor Howard Chizeck and Ms. Laura Haas. Artistic design was by Sarah Conradt, in cooperation with Howard and Laura.

District VIII of CASE includes the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada (Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavat, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories of Canada). This is the second time that EEK has received an award from CASE. Previously, EEK2004 won a “Bronze Award” in a similar category.

EEK 2008 received the CASE award specifically in the writing category for student alumni publications for recruitment. We are delighted to acknowledge the graduate students who wrote articles for this publication and to thank them for taking the time to present their research in such an excellent way as to be recognized with this award. The graduate student contributions are vital to our faculty’s research, to the department, and to the EEK publication.
