EE graduate student Rahul Vanam was awarded “Best Student Paper” at the 2009 Western New York Image Processing workshop in Rochester, New York.
Co-authors for “Joint Rate-Intelligibility-Complexity Optimization of an H.264 Video Encoder for American Sign Language” were Frank Ciaramello, Eve Riskin, Sheila Hemami and Richard Ladner. Professor Riskin is also Rahul’s advisor.
